Dr. Gisel Amaya-Filbeck

School Psychologist

Dr. Gisel Amaya-Filbeck is a bilingual, nationally certified school psychologist with extensive experience serving individuals across educational and clinical settings. She earned her Ph.D. in School Psychology, Master of Arts in School Psychology, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from the University of Arizona. Dr. Amaya-Filbeck has worked with students ranging from preschool through college and specializes in conducting comprehensive bilingual psychoeducational evaluations. She is committed to ensuring that evaluation results are clearly explained in families’ primary languages and has experience providing assessments both in person and through virtual platforms. Her areas of expertise include the evaluation of learning disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and related psychiatric and developmental conditions in children, adolescents, and adults.

In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Amaya-Filbeck has supervisory experience within behavioral health settings, which has strengthened her understanding of the importance of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to evaluation. She values integrating information across multiple environments, including home, school, and behavioral health contexts, to develop a thorough understanding of each individual’s strengths and needs. Dr. Amaya-Filbeck currently provides virtual school psychology services for a rural school district and conducts evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults through the ABLE Clinic.
