SALT staff helping student at enrollment event

Complete the two enrollment steps in the checklist before May 1, 2025 to reserve a spot in our academic support program. Spots are limited!

Every year around April 1st, the SALT Center reaches its maximum capacity and starts a waiting list. We strongly recommend that SALT Center candidates submit a complete application and finish our enrollment steps by this date to have the best chance of avoiding the waiting list. You must enroll to reserve your spot.

1. SUBMIT the SALT Center New Student Participation Agreement

Access the SALT Center's New Student Participation Agreement in the SALT Center Application Portal. The agreement must be submitted in order to officially reserve your place in the SALT Center for the academic year. Please note: if you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian will also be required to review and sign the agreement.

By enrolling in the SALT Center you are agreeing to:

  1. participate for a minimum of two consecutive semesters
  2. pay a program fee for academic support services

2. REGISTER for the SALT Center Enrollment Event

The SALT Center Enrollment Event is a mandatory event and provides information on what to expect and how to best utilize our academic support services.

First-Year Students: The event takes place virtually, live on Zoom on specified dates in May/June. All new students and a parent/supporter must attend to retain their spot in the program.

Transfer & Current U of A Students: The event takes place virtually, live on Zoom in August, and you (the student) must attend to retain your spot in the program.

3. PAY the SALT Center Enrollment Fee

The $200 SALT Center Enrollment Fee covers the cost of the mandatory SALT Center Enrollment Event. This fee is separate and different from the enrollment fee assessed by the University of Arizona and will be charged to your Bursar’s account once you are admitted. Expect the SALT Center program fee to be billed to your U of A Bursar’s account in July.

First-Year Students Only

4. PLAN to attend the mandatory SALT Center Summer Workshop Series

The SALT Center Summer Workshop Series is required for all incoming students as part of enrollment in the SALT Center. The workshop series is designed to prepare students for the transition into the college environment and for utilizing SALT Center services.

The workshops will take place virtually on Zoom during the week of June 23–26, 2025 from 2-3pm (Arizona time) each day. Please save these dates in your calendar and avoid scheduling other appointments during these times that would prevent you from attending.
