Student Social Events
Many students have made their journey to the SALT Center from a hometown that is far away, leaving behind family, friends, pets, and other supportive individuals. In order to help students feel at home in this new environment, we regularly create opportunities for them to make new friends, have fun, and develop socially.
The Student Engagement Team is a group of enthusiastic SALT Center staff who host a variety of events year-round for all SALT Center enrolled students. If it sounds interesting, and you'd like to meet other fellow students, please give it a shot and join us!
Some events that we regularly host include:
- Visits from therapy dogs
- Arts and crafts
- Hikes
- Movies
- Outings to community events
- Indoor games (video games, board games, trivia competitions, etc.)
- Sports (bowling, cornhole, driving range, etc.)
Check out our Calendar or Instagram page for details on upcoming events. Let us know if you have an activity you would like to see or help organize. We're always open to suggestions.
Students who have difficulty navigating social situations can speak with their Student Support Specialist about SALT Center workshops and resources to help them develop their social skills.
